Valencia Airport

Valencia International Airport (official name Aeropuerto Internacional de Valencia-Manises), recognisable by the IATA code VLC, is located approximately 8 km west of the city centre, in the municipal area of Manises.

The number of passengers using this airport in a year was around 10 million in 2023 and is mainly international traffic. Italy, Germany, England and France top the list of passengers arriving or departing from Valencia, while the most popular domestic destinations are Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza and Madrid.

It is very easy to fly to Valencia thanks to the wide choice of direct flights from low-cost airlines; be careful, however, as some are only seasonal.

Good motorway and rail connections between Valencia and all major Spanish cities make this airport an excellent base not only for a city break but also for a touring holiday in Spain or a beach holiday in the region’s beautiful beaches.

Just outside the terminal, past the large covered car park, there are three hotels that are undoubtedly the best alternatives for sleeping near Valencia Airport. How to get to Valencia city centre from the airport

Getting to the centre of Valencia from the airport by public transport is easy and cheap. The fastest way is by metro (Metrovalencia): in just 20 minutes you can arrive at your destination.

Underground

To take the metro, you don’t even have to leave the airport. Lines 3 (Rafelbunyol-Aeroport) and 5 (Aeroport-Marítim Serrería) leave from the passenger terminal and connect the airport to all the strategic points of the city, including the historic centre, the port and the university area. You do not need to buy a ticket if you have the Valencia Tourist Card.

Bus

Those who prefer the bus to the metro can take the CityBus 105, which is slightly cheaper but slower. A disadvantage of the bus is that unlike the metro it does not operate on Sundays or public holidays.

Taxi

A taxi from Valencia Airport to the centre costs around 20.00 euros, but this can vary considerably depending on the exact destination address, traffic conditions and any night/holiday surcharges.

Private transfer

An alternative to TAXIs is to book in advance a private transfer to or from Valencia Airport airport. A driver will pick you up at the airport arrivals (thus avoiding taxi queues), at your hotel or wherever you prefer, to take you to the desired address.
