Sala Razzmatazz

The Sala Razzmatazz is a concert hall in Barcelona and at the same time one of the most famous clubs in the city, very active on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Sala Razzmatazz is one of the most famous nightclubs in Barcelona. Indeed, musical history in the city has been written in its interior, a place that is undoubtedly the home of major cultural and entertainment events on a national and international scale.

Located in a conspicuous but blurred building within the city’s industrial landscape, and with a façade that is simply an icon of Barcelona, Sala Razzmatazz was inaugurated in 2000 and from then on numerous artists have graced its stage: from big international names to young up-and-comers, all of them united by their high quality.

The Sala Razzmatazz has a calendar of events run by Spanish and international promoters, bringing the club’s level to an international scale. It is divided into five rooms where all kinds of concerts, parties, fashion shows, galas and photo shoots take place. A multifunctional space that can be transformed according to the needs of individual events.

The five halls of Razzmatazz

Razzmattazz has five separate rooms, called Razzclub, The Loft, Lolita, Pop Bar and Rex Room, each of which has its own calendar of events.

Razzclub

The main space in the Razzmatazz Room is the Razzclub, led by the experienced DJs Amable and Gato, with the support of other resident DJs. The Razzclub is a real landmark in the European indie scene and an institution for thousands of music lovers. Here you can enjoy the best indie-pop, new wave or electro rock music, alongside the best concerts of this music genre.

The Loft

At The Loft you can listen to the most avant-garde sounds in all of Barcelona within its walls. The venue has earned a reputation as the best place in the city to rock out to the rhythms of techno, hard-techno, tech-house, electro and dubstep music. Its full programme of evenings by national and international artists, together with its beautiful lighting effects managed by the Lectrovision team and its unrivalled sound system allow it to attract hundreds and hundreds of electronic music lovers every weekend.

Lolita

House, Electropop, Hip Hop, Dubstep. These are the genres in vogue at Lolita, the meeting place for discerning nightlife lovers. Numerous concerts and live DJ sets are held every month, where new promises of international music perform alongside a top-notch staff of resident DJs. The likes of Juan Maclean, The Magician, Space Dimension Controler, Eton Messy and many others have performed on stage.

Pop Bar

The Pop Bar is a privileged spot within the 103-square-metre Razzmatazz Room. In here, rounded melodies and refrains are paid homage to, but without being subject to any clearly defined genre. 80s music is played, but also technopop, electro-rock and the best gay-friendly hits. The diverse audience and the great variety of music played make the Pop Bar the perfect place for lovers of melody and fun.

Rexroom

A point of contact between the Razz Club and The Loft, the Rex Room is a sort of research laboratory for finding the missing links between the mix of all possible styles, leaving out all prejudices. From house to electro, old school to acid, these experiments manifest themselves in the form of a daring event calendar featuring international artists such as Horse Meat Disco, Mickey, Jonas Rashtman, Plastic Plates, Slow Hands and many others. Whoever performs at the Rex Room today will surely be a reference point for the music of tomorrow.

Some artists who have performed at the Razzmatazz Room

Established in 2000, the Razzmatazz Room was the first club in Spain to programme five distinct spaces for every day of the week. The spaces took the names Razzclub, The Loft, Lolita, Pop Bar and Rex Room, which, alongside three additional lounges, witnessed performances by the best artists of the local and international scene in all genres of music such as pop, rock and electronic music.

Artists such as Coldplay, Kanye West, Blur, Kraftwerk and David Byrne, to name but a few, have successfully performed on the stages of the Razzmatazz Room. And many others performed when they were not yet known, taking their first Spanish stage, such as the Arctic Monkeys or Franz Ferdinand, before they became world famous.
