Banksy is a famous British artist whose real identity is unknown but he is considered to be one of the leading exponents of street art and his works can be found in several countries around the world. What is currently known about the artist is that he is originally from Bristol and that his creations deal with often topical subjects of politics, society and ethics.
Considered one of the most prominent artists of modern street art, after the Paris exhibition The World of Banksy, the works of the mysterious creator have also arrived in Spain. The Banksy Museum in Barcelona hosts more than 130 drawings by this art genius who tackles current issues in an unusual and often irreverent way.
The exhibition allows visitors to get to know Banksy’s most famous works and the message behind his creations, which can be street art drawings, graffiti or installations. Among the best-known reproductions are ‘Girl with a Balloon’ and ‘Girl Frisking a Soldier’; these are joined by many others dealing with themes such as human rights, peace, climate change and the economic crisis.
