The small and beautiful island of Lobos is located in the Bocaina Strait, 8 kilometres south of Lanzarote and 2 kilometres off the north-eastern coast of Fuerteventura, in front of the town of Corralejo, from where it can be accessed by a short ferry crossing.
Declared a nature reserve in 1982, the island is surrounded by crystal-clear waters and dotted with beautiful white sandy bays.
The island is a popular day-trip destination for tourists from neighbouring Fuerteventura, although access is limited to certain areas and a series of well-marked trails to preserve the island’s biodiversity.
The Punto Martino area at the top of the Caldera, the highest point of Lobos, and Playa de la Concha are very beautiful.
You can eat at the only restaurant on the island and, thanks to a special permit, you can spend a maximum of 3 nights in the El Carpintero area.
The most convenient way to visit the island of Lobos is by ferry from Corralejo. You can buy your ticket online before you leave.
If you would like to combine a visit to the island with a boat tour, perhaps with a dolphin sighting, book one of the following services. Due to the high season, we recommend booking online to avoid waiting and to ensure your place.
On the island of Lobos there are no accommodations, so you’ll have to ‘settle’ for sleeping in Corralejo, which is both the most developed tourist resort on Fuerteventura and the one from where the ferries to Lobos depart. You will have no problem finding accommodation that suits you, even opposite the port. There are large international chain hotels, boutique hotels, residences, B&Bs, flats and guest houses, to suit all budgets and needs.
