The white-sand beaches of Corralejo stretch along the east coast of Fuerteventura. Most of these beaches have sunbeds and umbrellas for hire at reasonable prices.

Corralejo Dunes Beach

11 km south of Corralejo is the Corralejo Dunes National Park, overlooking the ocean. Here, the beautiful beach of the same name is a must-see. Very long, extensive, bathed by crystal-clear waters: a true paradise of nature.

The sand is very clear and fine, and you will feel as if you are touching the islands of Lobos and Lanzarote with your finger; the scenery is truly impressive! The beach is suitable for children and naturism is also possible. The resort is also frequented by lovers of surfing and its derivatives.

El Cotillo

In the coastal village of El Cotillo, easily accessible from Corralejo, you will find a series of small bays with white sand and warm turquoise waters. La Concha beach is one of them and is one of the best known in Fuerteventura for its beauty, quality and tranquillity. It is very suitable for families and children, being bathed by calm waters.

Don’t miss the water games of the Splash Race, the Black Hole and the Kamikaze. If you prefer a more relaxing experience, take a ride down the Lazy River and get pampered in a huge Jacuzzi.

There is also apicnic area where you can have a leisurely lunch, as well as an on-site restaurant offering light lunches. The Acua water park is open daily from the end of March until early September.

Quad or buggy ride in the desert

One of the activities most enjoyed by travellers in Corralejo is the buggy or quad bike excursion to the Dune Park. There are many agencies that organise it, and generally these excursions start in the morning and last about 4 hours.

It is a real adventure drive through the desert to admire this sandy, volcanic scenery up close. During the excursion, you are accompanied by a team of experts who are ready to help you if needed.

The quad or buggy hire fees are very low and well worth participating in. Sunglasses and a scarf to cover your nose and mouth are a must; the sand will otherwise be very uncomfortable.

As already mentioned, Corralejo lends itself very much to water sports. Whether you are an expert or simply want to try your first surfing lesson, you are in the right place. Lovers of this discipline will find the right waves to ride and shops selling and renting surfboards and everything necessary. Lobos Island

The island of Lobos is a magnificent small island off the northern coast of Fuerteventura, a favourite destination for ecologists and travellers in search of unspoilt nature. The highlights of this island are its beaches, bays and spectacular underwater landscapes.

But the interior also has much to offer, including hiking and biking routes. One of them leads to the island’s symbol, the Martiño Lighthouse. Nightlife

Corralejo boasts of having the best nightlife in all of Fuerteventura. Most of the bars and restaurants are concentrated on the main street, which leads straight to the sea.

There is a bit of everything here; you can choose between Irish pubs, clubs frequented mainly by surfers and open-air bars playing traditional Spanish music. If you are looking for a night of dancing, wander along the beach, you will find clubs open until the early hours of the morning.

How to get to Corralejo

Corralejo is really easy to get to because it is the northernmost resort on the island! Wherever you are, just drive north and sooner or later you will get there. More precisely, the resort is located at the end of the FV-1 road, which connects it with Puerto del Rosario, the island’s capital, from where the FV-2 road starts, passing through the airport and Caleta de Fuste, and arriving at the southern tip of Morro Jable.

The distance to get to Corralejo, given its location, depends very much on your place of departure: from Morro Jable it takes just under 2 hours and you have to cover a distance of 120 kilometres, while from Caleta de Fuste it takes about 40 minutes, from the airport about half an hour and from Puerto del Rosario about 25 minutes.
