Magaluf is one of Majorca ‘s best-known destinations for its large number of nightclubs, beach parties and events for those who like to stay up and party until dawn. The upside of this is that, given the high number of young visitors, the town offers cheaper accommodation and services than other places on the island.

Magaluf, however, is not only the perfect location for nightlife but also a town that boasts numerous tourist services and entertainment for everyone. Add to this the fact that Magaluf is less than 20 km from the centre of Palma de Mallorca and you will understand why it has become an internationally famous destination. Although many know it for its nightlife, Magaluf is a destination that also features long golden sandy beaches, clean waters and numerous facilities not only for youngsters but also for families with children.

Family-friendly beaches and facilities have increased in recent years, along with the possibility of attending special shows or spending days in amusement parks. For the more sporty, there is also the possibility of diving, kitesurfing, windsurfing and other activities such as tennis and golf.

The beaches of Magaluf

Although famous more for its clubs and discos, Magaluf also offers a beautiful, more than one-kilometre-long, fully-equipped coastline that is usually divided into three areas: Magaluf Beach, Majorca Beach and Palma Nova Beach. All three have fine sand with seabeds that slope gently towards the sea, which boasts crystal-clear waters.

The beaches are all equipped with deckchair and umbrella hire, showers, bars, restaurants and play areas. Given all these characteristics, the beaches of Magaluf are also suitable for families with children who can bathe and play safely here.

There is also no shortage of sports activities on the beach. In addition to beach volleyball, it is possible to go diving, kitesurfing, windsurfing and many other activities. If you arrive early in the morning, the beach in Magaluf is still not very crowded as many young people, having been out partying until dawn, get up very late.

Early risers, on the other hand, can come to the beach at dawn to watch the sun rise against the backdrop of the Isla de Sa Pornassa.Isla de Sa Pornassa, also known as Black Lizard Island, is a small island that is home to a colony of black lizards that can be admired on a boat tour.

Those looking for wilder and less frequented beaches can head south to Cala del Mago, Cala Bella Donna and Cala de Cap Falcó. In particular, Cala del Mago is an inlet with two small bays and an area reserved for naturists. Cala de Cap Falcó, on the other hand, is ideal for snorkelling and diving enthusiasts as its seabed is home to the wreck of a Greek ship.

Nightlife in Magaluf

Magaluf’s main attraction is undoubtedly its nightlife. Live music venues, famous DJs, theme parties and beach parties are the soul of this town that is perfect for those seeking fun and carefree entertainment. Discos, disco-pubs and strip-clubs enliven the evenings and are particularly popular along Carrer Punta Ballena, the most famous street, which is also nicknamed ‘The Strip’. Fun-loving people come to Magaluf not only for the great choice of venues, but also for the very low cost of alcohol and the numerous entertainment options.

Among the most popular venues is the BCM Planet Dance, which is the largest disco on the island. Stretching over three floors, this club organises evenings every year with international DJs such as David Guetta or Axwell. If you want to attend one of the events, however, it is important to buy tickets online in good time. Other clubs include Carwash, Panama Jack, the Banana Club and the Boomerang Club. In addition to club nights, there are also many boat parties on board boats with food, alcohol, music and shows. Those looking for less lively evenings, on the other hand, can head to one of the many Beach Clubs.
