The town of Santa Eularia des Riu is located along the north-east coast of Ibiza and is a popular destination for families and couples.
Santa Eularia is the third largest town on the island after Eivissa and San Antonio and is located 21 kilometres from Ibiza Airport close to some of the island’s beautiful white sandy beaches including the lovely Mariner beach, Cala de San Vicente, Cala Mastella, Cala Boix, S’Argamassa, Cala Llonga, Cala Llenya, Cala Espart, Cala de s’Aigua Blanca, Es Niu Blau and Cala Gat.
The town, the gastronomic and cultural centre of the island, follows the slope of a small hill dominated by the Church of Our Lady, from where one can enjoy beautiful views, and boasts a beautiful promenade lined with palm trees and a long sandy beach ideal for children, art galleries and some excellent restaurants.

The historical heart of Santa Eulària revolves around the majestic Puig de Missa, a hill on which stands the imposing 16th century fortified church. This architectural complex is not only an important historical monument but also offers one of the most impressive views of the city and the coast. The small ethnological museum housed in the premises adjacent to the church preserves valuable evidence of local culture and traditions.
Descending towards the sea, the seafront promenade is one of the city’s jewels. This wide tree-lined avenue, perfectly maintained and full of flower beds, stretches for over two kilometres along the coast. The promenade is flanked on one side by the urban beach and on the other by a selection of quality restaurants, cafés and boutiques.
The marina is another focal point of city life, with its modern facilities and elegant marina where boats of all sizes can be admired. The harbour area is home to some of the city’s best restaurants, specialising in fresh fish and Mediterranean cuisine.
La Rambla, the main pedestrian thoroughfare of the centre, is the beating heart of shopping and social life. Here you will find local craft shops, fashion boutiques, art galleries and outdoor cafés. It is particularly lively during summer evenings, when shops stay open late and bars offer live music.
The Riu de Santa Eulària, the only river in the Balearic Islands, gave its name to the town and today its course is enhanced by a nature trail that allows pleasant walks inland. Along the route you can still see some of the old watermills that once characterised this area.
Santa Eularia des Riu has a beautiful beach that runs south of the main square. There are several accommodations here, mostly in the form of small hotels, hostals and flats. Santa Eularia des Riu is located on the east coast of Ibiza, conveniently located for visiting the rest of the island. To get there from the airport you can either take the L24 line, departing from the terminal every two hours, which makes a direct connection, or one of the many buses to Eivissa and then change to the L13 line, departing every 20 minutes from the Cetis bus station, which is located slightly outside the city centre.
If you have a rental car the situation becomes much easier: from the airport it takes only 30 minutes to get there, following the frequent signs that will take you along the EI-800, EI-20 and EI-300 roads.

The small village of Siesta is located just outside Santa Eularia, from which it is separated by a river, and is a residential area consisting of villas with swimming pools and apartment complexes.
The village, developed in the late 1970s, is built on the mountainside and overlooks the beautiful bay to the east. Although a lively village only during the summer period, Siesta boasts excellent restaurants and an enviable location.
Not far away are the beaches of Cala Llonga and Calo s’Alga.
Santa Eularia des Riu is located on the east coast of Ibiza, about halfway up. It can be easily reached in 20 minutes by car from the centre of Eivissa and in about 25 minutes from theinternational airport.
