The town of Sant Josep de sa Talaia is located in the interior of southern Ibiza, near the beautiful beaches of Cala Bassa, Cala Carbo, Cala Codola, Cala Conta, Cala Corral and Cala d’Hort, 15 kilometres from Eivissa and 10 from Ibiza Airport.
White houses typical of the island’s traditional architecture, medieval churches and numerous defence towers characterise the territory of Sant Josep.
The municipal area, which includes Ibiza’s main tourist resorts in addition to the charming bays, overlooks the islets of Es Vedra, Es Vedranell, Sa Conillera, Espartà and Illa des Bosc and boasts important archaeological sites including the Phoenician village of Sa Caleta and the Punic-Roman settlement of Ses Paises.
Don’t miss the enchanting natural cave of Cova Santa. If you’re dreaming of a beach holiday without giving up wonderful excursions on foot or by bicycle, or why not on horseback, Sant Josep de sa Talaia is the place for you.
Sant Josep de sa Talaia is very small and certainly not the place that springs to mind first for a holiday in Ibiza. It goes without saying that it is mainly chosen by families and travellers seeking tranquillity. If you also see yourself in this target group, know that you will have to book accommodation well in advance, otherwise you risk a sell-out. The choice is certainly not endless, and consists mainly of flats, villas and boutique hotels. Whatever you choose, given the limited size of the village, you will never be too far from the centre and the main services.
Sant Josep de sa Talaia is located far from the coast (although ‘far’ for a resort in Ibiza is an understatement), in the south-west of the island. It is easily reached from the airport using the L9 bus line , leaving the terminal every 30 minutes. The journey is very short, no more than 15 minutes. If, on the other hand, you have arented car, from the airport you have to take the EI-700 road, which is exactly the same route as the bus. Again, it will take no more than 15 minutes to reach your destination.
From the centre of Eivissa the route is only slightly longer, taking about 20 minutes, and it is still the EI-700. If, on the other hand, from Eivissa you want to get to Sant Josep de sa Talaia by bus, take the L8 line departing from Avinguda de Espanya at the junction with Vara de Rey.
