Ibiza Airport (IATA code: IBZ) is the main gateway to the Balearic island, located 7.5 kilometres southwest of the capital, and is the gateway to both Ibiza and Formentera, as the latter does not have its own airport. This modern infrastructure handles heavy seasonal traffic, with significant peaks during the summer season when the island becomes one of the Mediterranean’s most popular tourist destinations.

The airport – also called Aeropuerto de Ibiza San José in Spanish – serves as the main hub for the entire island, with no other airports in the immediate vicinity. The nearest one is located in Palma de Mallorca, about 150 km away. The hotel is well connected to the main resorts on the island: it is 15 minutes from the centre of Ibiza Town, 25 minutes from Santa Eulària des Riu and 30 minutes from San Antonio.

Ibiza Airport operates a single, modern and well-organised terminal, handling both domestic and international flights. The facility, which was renovated in 2012, has two levels: the ground floor for arrivals and the first floor for departures. The terminal is equipped with all essential services, including restaurants, duty-free shops, exchange offices and car rentals.

Connections to and from Ibiza Airport

The public bus is the most popular way for travellers to reach the centre of Ibiza Town, with a journey time of about 15 minutes. The service is particularly appreciated for its frequency and convenience, especially during the tourist season when it operates with regular services every 20 minutes.

By bus

The public bus line 10 connects the airport with the centre of Ibiza Town and the port. The service operates from 6 a.m. to midnight with a higher frequency during the high season, and tickets can be purchased directly from the driver. The main stops include the Port of Ibiza and Figueretas, making it a practical solution for reaching most hotels.

Bus number 9 from 1 June to 30 September connects the airport with the resorts of Sant Josep de sa Talaia and San Antonio with departures every hour.

Bus number 24 from 1 June to 30 September covers the route between the airport and the resorts of Santa Eularia, Es Canar and Cala Nova.

By Car

If you want to rent a car – an option recommended for those who have a hotel not in Ibiza Town or want to visit remote beaches that cannot be reached by public transport – you can find numerous car rental companies, both local and international, on the ground floor of the Ibiza Airport terminal.
