Considered by many to be the most beautiful beach in Formentera, Ses Illetes is reminiscent of Caribbean beaches.
The beach of fine white sand, lapped by a dreamlike sea, stretches like a tongue into the crystal-clear waters that lap the western side of the narrow Trucador peninsula, on the opposite side of Platja de Llevant, between Punta des Pas and Platgeta des Carregador. The northern part of Playa Illetes is the quietest and most private and is often frequented by naturists.
This earthly paradise, 500 metres long and 50 metres wide, is located 4 kilometres from the port of La Savina and 7 kilometres from Sant Francesc.
From Ses Illetes, one can admire the beautiful coastline of the island of Espalmador, which together with other islets lies in the channel separating Formentera from Ibiza.
Playa de Ses Illetes can be reached from the port of La Savina, leaving the town in an easterly direction via road PM-820-2. After a few kilometres you will find a diversion to the left with a sign indicating ‘Ses Illetes’. Take it without being alarmed by the fact that the road becomes unpaved, and after a little more than a kilometre you will have arrived at your destination.
If, on the other hand, you are coming from the south of Formentera, you will first have to get to Es Pujols, then proceed in a north-westerly direction along the Estany Pudent, until you reach the same diversions as above.
In the area of Playa de Ses Illetes there are no facilities where to stay. There are, however, flats located north of Estany Pudent, from which the beach is no more than 1-2 kilometres away as the crow flies. These are rather isolated solutions, but still definitely not cheap. If you prefer to stay somewhere where there are services, bars and restaurants, choose La Savina or Es Pujols equivalently, roughly equidistant from Ses Illetes.
Playa de Ses Illetes is located on the northern tip of Formentera, accessible from both Es Pujols and La Savina by a short stretch of dirt road.
